Less than half of adults with high blood pressure (42%) are properly diagnosed and treated1. In fact, you can have high blood pressure without experiencing any symptoms. The only way to find out is to have your blood pressure checked. That’s what our #BecauseISaySo #CheckYourBloodPressure campaign is all about!
A new #BecauseISaySo campaign: “The Bucket List”
We have been raising awareness about high blood pressure with our #BecauseISaySo #CheckYourBloodPressure campaign for seven years now. This year, we invite you to take part in “The Bucket List” initiative. The message is clear: Live longer, healthier lives through earlier diagnosis and better blood pressure control. Tick items off your Bucket List and make your dreams come true!
The campaign will be promoted on social media throughout May.
#BecauseISaySo is endorsed by May Measurement Month and the International Society of Hypertension (ISH), and is carried out in collaboration with patients.
Hypertension, a global epidemic
Understanding Hypertension
Hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by consistently high blood pressure over time. It is one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Ever on the rise, it is now one of the leading causes of premature death worldwide according to the World Health Organization1. When detected at an early stage and treated appropriately, hypertension is a condition that can be managed very well1.
Created by the World Hypertension League, May 17 is World Hypertension Day. This year’s theme — “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer!” — focuses on raising awareness of high blood pressure and highlighting low diagnosis rates around the world.
The significance of treatment adherence in hypertension
At Servier, webelieve that adherence to treatment is the key to ensuring effective care and improving outcomes for patients with hypertension and other chronic diseases. Our “As One” initiative embraces this philosophy, and is designed to improve patient adherence and follow-up, clinical outcomes, and therapeutic effectiveness. Our goal is to provide better quality care for healthcare professionals and patients.
